SPENCER® SED Extraction Immobilisation Device
The SED is specifically designed to provide fast and safe extraction of casualties from vehicles and other confined spaces. Suitable for use on pregnant women, babies and children.
Before using the SED, a cervical collar must be used to maintain immobilisation and head & torso alignment. The SED keeps casualties immobilised from the spine to the hip and pelvis areas. Maximum load capacity is 230kg.
Ideal for all emergency situations - belts and straps are colour-coded for easy recognition, rapid application and are X-ray compatible.
Equipped with a cushion for the nuchal area (back of the neck) to provide casualty support and comfort. The vertical rigidity and the horizontal flexibility provides fast immobilisation of the spinal column and a secure extrication.
The SED is made of robust nylon covered in PVC vinyl which limits abrasions, assures total integrity and makes disinfection easier.
