MDI can be stored inside the spacer when not being used.

The Space Chamber is a spacer device which is designed to make it easier and more efficient to use an inhaler as precise timing is not necessary.

Also by using the Space Chamber, in both adults and children more of the right size particles of medication enter deep into the lungs than when using an inhaler on its own.

Unwanted large particles in the aerosol mist are trapped inside the Space Chamber preventing irritation of the mouth and throat.

The flutter has the effect of causing an interruption in the exhaled breath, which causes a backpressure to help keep the large airways open during exhalation. The oscillation of the air causes the airways to move and so shake the mucus from the sides. It also has a shearing effect, helping to reduce the viscosity of the mucus, making it easier to expectorate.
